Please join us for a visit to two exciting galleries in Hollywood- Tanya Bonakdar to view four new bodies of work by photographer Lisa Oppenheim, and Parker Gallery to view photographs by Judy Linn.

In LISA OPPENHEIM: THE ETERNAL SUBSTITUTE Oppenheim presents work that explores celluloid film, the foundational medium that revolutionized commercial photography and made motion pictures possible. The exhibition portrays a narrative of beauty, reflection, and spectacular obsolescence, investigating the role that materials play in history and cultural development.

At Parker Gallery, the exhibition called FOR RUTH ROMAN presents a group of black-and-white and color photographs Judy Linn has taken over the last 31 years. As evidenced by her images taken in everyday, often unremarkable environments, Linn’s work appears spontaneous, yet her work is not oriented towards action. Her images take place in the moments just before or after the action has occurred, during a period of reflection, but never in between.
