Online Event

Artistic Director of MOCA Toronto, November Paynter, and Adjunct Curator, Rui Mateus Amaral, walk through the museum's newly opened exhibitions: Shirin Neshat, Land of Dreams, and Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Summer. This gathering will touch on the museum's vision for exhibitions and programming, as well as highlight major works and concepts in the current suite of exhibitions, with a focus on photography. While Gonzalez-Torres and Neshat's exhibitions are independent — each one unique in terms of medium and aesthetic language — they speak to one another on many levels by delving deeply into our connections (and disconnections) to place. There is also a profound sense of generosity and openness to these projects, a desire to share or involve other’s stories and narratives, from the participatory choices that Gonzalez-Torres invites through his work, to the individuals whose emotional portraits frame Neshat's Land of Dreams (2019).
