An artist lecture with multidisciplinary artist and educator Jeffrey Stuker. Presenting works from his most recent and past series, Jeffrey discusses the ongoing subjects of mimicry, documentation and gestures of object permanence throughout his practice and histories of photography. Followed by an open Q&A.
Jeffrey Stuker was born in Colorado in 1979. He received a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and an MFA from Yale University, where he also taught from 2006 to 2013. Stuker is currently a co-editor of the journal Effects and a lecturer at the University of California, San Diego. Jeffrey has recently exhibited at Larder, the Fulcrum Press, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the International Biennial of Contemporary Photography at MOMUS, and the Hammer Museum. His writing has been published in Mousse, the White Review, Art Handler, and others.
