Innovation Meets History: A Private visit to a Rare Collection

  • Hollywood Vaults 742 Seward Street Los Angeles, CA, 90038 United States (map)

From the collection of Leigh Wiener,

PAC LA Sponsor Members are invited to a rare visit to the Hollywood Vaults, a state-of-the-art facility for storage and preservation of photography. There we will visit the archive of renowned photographer and photojournalist, Leigh Wiener, guided by the photographer's son, Devik, who will share wonderful stories of the photographer's life.

During his 50-year career, Leigh Wiener photographed every U.S. president from Truman to Reagan, Hollywood legends from Marilyn to Marlon, musicians from Miles to Sinatra, poets, scientists, playwrights and industry titans. Wiener became a staff photographer at the Los Angeles Times and worked for Life, Time, Fortune, Sports Illustrated, and many more. His photographs are part of the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery, the Getty Museum, and other esteemed museums across the United States.

This space exemplifies innovation in photography preservation, and the images we'll see will remind us of the importance of caring for fine art photography.
