PACLA was honored to host Los Angeles County Museum of Art photography curator Eve Schillo for an exclusive sneak peek at LACMA's upcoming 2027-2028 "Photography Meets Sculpture" (working title) exhibition focused on photo-hybridity.
For the photo nerds: yes, the exhibition alludes to the seminal 1970s exhibition "Photography Into Sculpture," organized by Peter Bunnell for MoMA, and speaks to our present moment of photo-hybridity.
The exhibition will be touring SoCal starting in Summer 2027 as part of the LACMA's Local Access initiative.
Eve Schillo is an Associate Curator in the Wallis Annenberg Photography Department at LACMA. She curates exhibitions that span photographic history and appear in galleries dedicated to American, Latin American, Modern, Contemporary, andJapanese Art, as well as those devoted to photography.
This was the first in new series of PAC LA public events highlighting Innovation in the photographic arts. The talk took place at the Beverly Hills Public Library on June 10, 2026.
